Cambados is located in the Arousa estuary, formed by the River Ulla and the mouth of the Umia which borders the region known as Salnés. The area is famous for its sunsets and home to the poet Ramón Cabanillas. The landscape is full of vines where the grapes of the celebrated Albariño wine ripen. The sun terraces of vast stone manor houses originally built as defence towers look out over beautiful landscapes. Cambados celebrates its 60th wine festival which is now of international significance and the well organised wine-tasting sessions attracts true gourmets and connoisseurs. There will be over 50 wineries present. This is a time for celebrating the delights offered by both sea and land in the very heart of the “Rías Baixas".
