Health

Travel insurance is always strongly recommended but for European visitors health care treatment is free. There is no requirement for any inoculations.

For minor complaints farmacias (chemists) which are widely available are very helpful and can often dispense drugs that would only be on prescription elsewhere.

For emergencies dial 112 and for European citizens with an E111 card treatment is free otherwise costs (without insurance) will be at private hospital rates.

For information on the Red Cross (Cruz Roja) dial 34 902 222 292.

There is also a Forest Fire-Fighting Service, dial 085.
