Phantom Forest Eco Reserve

How to get to Phantom Forest Eco Reserve
Directions to Phantom Forest (from PE):
Take the N2 from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town.
You will travel through / past the towns of St. Francis/Cape St. Francis; Jeffreys Bay; Humansdorp and Plettenberg Bay. When you reach Plettenberg Bay you are approximately 20min away from Knysna! Continue on the N2.

Travel through the town of Knysna and about 7kms out of town you will cross the road bridge over the lagoon. Immediately after the bridge, take a right turn onto the Phantom Pass Road (also sign posted as Belvidere/Brenton-on-Sea). Almost immediately after turning right, the road will fork (be careful because it happens quite quickly). Take the left fork (i.e. straight on) and carry on for 1.2km (i.e. you DO NOT take the right fork which goes under the bridge).

The businesses you will pass on your left will be: Lagoon View Nursery (which is on the corner of the N2 and the Phantom Pass road); Lightleys Holiday Houseboats, Phantom View Lodges; Madibas Tide Hotel and then a bushy area which will stretch for about 300m.

You will then see Phantom Forest’s wooden sign on the left saying The Phantom Forest and just behind that, a sculpture of two bushpigs on a penningfarthing. Turn left into the entrance. On the right will be the car park and on the left the Gatehouse. Park your car and approach the Gatehouse.

Should our main gate be closed, please see telephone on the driveway right hand side, in front of the gate:
or
if the Gatehouse is not staffed, please see attached to the wall a telephone.
When either telephone is picked up it will automatically ring to the Lodge which is up on the hill. When someone answers, tell them you are checking in / have a dinner reservation and ask for a car to be sent down to collect you...
