Tsitsikamma Information

Tsitsikamma is a national park that is nestled between the imposing Tsitsikmma Mountains and the Indian Ocean. The national park, named ‘Tsitsikmma’ by the local Khoi people, means ‘The place of sparkling water’ and is made up of lush indigenous forests, deep ravines and spectacular waterfalls.

Tsitsikmma National Park is popular with hikers and nature lovers as it offers a number of hiking trails through its world famous forests. The Tsitsikmma National Park has a mild year round climate that makes it perfect for a number of outdoor activities. There are a variety of Tsitsikmma National Park trails that can been booked, ranging from treks that will take a few hours, up to those requiring a full week for the more ardent hiker.

If hiking is not your thing, then try something a bit different such as a mountain biking tour or a horse riding tour. For those visitors to the Tsitsikmma National Park that are looking for something to get the adrenaline going, try Abseiling or a Canopy Tour. This involves being strapped into a harness and sliding along a steel cable, 30 metres above the forest floor. What a way to see the Tsitsikmma National Park!!

For a gentler and less active way to see the Tsitsikmma National Park, try a tractor or 4x4 tour.
