
	Redberry Farm Overview No matter where you are staying along the Garden Route, if you would like to enjoy a different, action packed and productive family day in the country don’t miss out on a visit to the wonderful RedBerry Farm just outside George on the Geelhoutboom Road. This is the start of the Outeniqua Country Hop Route. Your whole family will be in awe at the rows and rows of strawberries in what is now known as ‘Strawberry Country’. As you leave George, the first real farm that welcomes tourists is RedBerry Farm where the lovely smell of sun ripened strawberries is strong and tempting. You will be welcomed by friendly and welcoming staff who will guide you as to what size container you should take as you venture into the ‘pick your own’ fields. You can now enjoy the freedom of a walk amongst the rows of strawberries while enjoying the stunning views of the Outeniqua Mountains in the distance. The sweetest and juiciest strawberries are available from August to January although with the various varieties of strawberries that are now available berry picking can be done all through the year. OUR FRIENDLY STAFF WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS REAGRDING THE FARMING OF STRAWBERRIES AND WILL ALSO SHARE SOME OF THE INNER SECRETS OF THE STARWBERRY WHICH IS ONE OF THE TOP TEN NUTRITIONAL FOODS IN THE WOLRD. When you have tasted the sweetness and flavour of a fat juicy handpicked strawberry, which has not spent days in a refrigerator, you will make sure your container is over flowing. This is just the start of a wonderful day – now you can meander back to the tea room and enjoy the delicious experience of SCONES ‘fresh from the oven’, farm butter, strawberry preserve and the ultimate treat of delicious fresh clotted cream. There is a lovely well equipped play ground for the children to enjoy while their parents can relax with a delicious cup of coffee or meander through the well stocked shop filled with a wide range of products from their deli section and many delicious strawberry related products – strawberry jams, strawberry liqueurs and strawberry syrup. Open from Monday to Saturday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (Open on public holidays except Christmas day and Good friday) Closed on Sundays
