Sark, the fourth smallest of the Channel Islands, is easily reached from Guernsey's St Peter Port Harbour by regular ferries that run throughout the year. The ferry service to Sark from Jersey is seasonal with three or four sailings per week throughout the summer months.

The island is unique. There are no cars in Sark, transport is by bicycle or horse and carriage. Visitors can tour the island's beauty spots in a carriage, giving plenty of time to enjoy the wealth of wild flowers, birds and butterflies and the spectacular scenery.

Sarks's spell is cast as soon as the visitor travels up the Harbour Hill to the plateau high above the sea. There the narrow lanes, flower-studded fields and ever present bird-song delight the eye and enchant the ear. The magnificent cliffs sheltering sandy beaches promise idyllic days by the sea, naturalists enjoy the abundance of flowers and birds, and artists find something to paint wherever they look.

After a day in the open air, there are excellent restaurants and hotel dining rooms to round off a perfect day.
