Our Local Experts say:
Guernsey needs a lot more than just a single museum to reflect a fascinating past that goes back not just hundreds but thousands of years. Set in a delightful Victorian garden, the award winning Candie Museum tells the island's general history.
The magnificent Castle Cornet is home to four different museums including one dedicated to Guernsey's colourful maritime heritage. Around Guernsey there are signs of the German occupation, like the underground war museums and the huge concrete towers facing out to sea. A coastal fort from an earlier era is now home to a Shipwreck Museum, Fort Grey.
