Guernsey enjoys an enviable western European location and is extremely easy to reach by air or by sea - both from the nearby continent and also from the United Kingdom and Ireland. By air it takes just 40 minutes to reach Guernsey from London, while England's south coast is less than three hours away by ferry. The island lies within sight of France's Normandy coastline but Guernsey's main gateway to the continent is the ferry port of St Malo in Brittany.

Guernsey is very well served by flights to and from the UK and Europe. Guernsey's busy airport is just a 10 minute drive from the island's commercial centre in St Peter Port and no more than a half hour drive from any other location within the island.

BY SEA:

It is quick and easy to get to Guernsey by sea from Poole and Weymouth on England's South Coast. From both ports you can catch the Condor fast car ferry, which takes about 2 and a half hours to get to St Peter Port. You can take your own car or go as a foot passenger. Bicycles are taken free.

The fast wavepiercers are on occasion cancelled due to severe weather conditions, mostly in winter, but Condor Ferries also operates a daily year round car ferry and passenger service from Portsmouth. The journey time is 9-10 hours.

Fast ferries also operate from St Malo on the north coast of France with a crossing time of just under 2 hours.
