Hawaii is an incredible destination to visit year round. The tropical climate remains fairly constant throughout the year; quite humid and averaging daytime temperatures in the 80's (°F). The Trade Winds provide a natural relief from the heat as they gently and constantly breeze over the Hawaiian Islands. Coastal temperatures generally stay within the 80 degree range (26°C), occasionally dropping to the low 70's (21°C) during the rainy season. Temperatures also drop as elevation increases, with the Big Island actually sustaining snow!
Each island has weather zones in relation to the Trade Winds, notably a leeward side (drier) and a windward side (rainy). The leeward side is on the Southwest side of each island (sunny, dry, and dotted with sandy beaches ), while windward is Northeast and has enough rain to sustain lush, tropical jungles. The weather tends to be highly localized as it can be raining in one spot and sunny just a few miles away. The water temperature averages about 77°F (25°C) in the winter and 82°F (28°C) in the summertime.
