West Maui is home to world class resorts and hotels (Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua). South Maui has a mix of hotels and condominiums, typically at lower rate than West Maui (Kihei, Wailea-Makena).

While most vacationers to Maui are drawn to the sandy beaches of West and South Maui, Hana (East Maui) offers complete seclusion and only one hotel choice (Hotel Hana). Business travelers or those passing through might elect to stay in Kahului, home to Maui's main airport.
