    How to get there

    To get to the Honolulu Academy of Arts from Waikiki head away from the beach, and turn left onto Ala Wai Blvd from any street in Waikiki. From Ala Wai Blvd, turn right onto Kalakaua Ave, and follow for half a mile. Turn left onto Beretania St and follow for .8 miles. Honolulu Academy of Arts will be on your right. Street Parking is available on Beretania or Victoria. Parking also available at Diamond Head Parking Lot with entrances on Beretania and Young Street.

The Honolulu Academy of Arts is both a notable art museum and a private art academy with education as a core mission. The museum features a collection of more than 60,000 pieces, including many original pieces. The majority of the museums art collection stems from Asia, Europe, and America. The private art academy is the largest private art school in Hawaii and offers classes for children and adults as well as hosting social art gatherings.

Art After Dark
Art After Dark is a chic art party where you can mingle and sip wine as you peruse through interesting works of art. Art After Dark runs from January thru October on the last Friday of the Month from 6pm-9pm at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Cost: Free for Academy Members $10 General Admission.
Museum
The Museum features unique collections and exhibits, including Hawaiiana, Asian, Oceania, and European & American pieces. Each month or so, there are new collections and exhibitions to experience. The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4:30pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm. Closed Mondays and Holidays. Admission is $10. Seniors, students, military $5. Free for Honolulu Academy of Art members.
Shangri La
Filled with an extensive collection of Islamic art, Doris Duke's Shangri La is open to the public (via guided groups). The Diamond Head home is an architectural masterpiece in itself. To preserve the house and its art collection, Honolulu Academy of Arts supports Doris Duke's Shangri La. Tours Wednesday-Saturday at 8:30am, 11am, 1:30pm. All tours originate at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
