Nestled off Canton Road next to Kowloon Park in Tsim Sha Tsui, The Sweet Dynasty is bustling, boisterous locale, where you can order congee, noodles, or dessert.
The restaurant itself has two floors, cushy chairs and extra stereotypically–Chinese décor aimed at foreigners. It is always packed, and as such can be on the loud side.
Sweet Dynasty’s a la carte menu features a wide assortment of dim sum, noodles, rice pairings, light snacks, dessert and pastries. Menu highlights include the Dou Hua (Warm Tofu in cask – for sharing!), or steamed/fried egg custard buns. Or, for warmer weather, steer towards sago soup with fresh fruit, which features watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew balls and tiny pearls made from sago palm starch floating in coconut milk. The cold Mango Tofu Fa is also worth a try.
The service is notably slow and relatively poor, despite the queue of people, and the food is on the pricey side for what it is. Good for first-timers, it’s a bit of a tourist trap.
There are many shopping areas around the area for your enjoyment. For those craving for nightlife, you don’t need to look far.
Mon-Thurs 10am – 12am, Fri 10am – 11pm, Sat 7am – 1am, Sun 7am – 12am.
