With its beef coming from the world famous La Pampa grazing pastures in Argentina, Tango Argentinian steakhouse brings authenticity to the plate, literally. From the quality imported beef to the Parrilla, or the open fire grill, the combination of these two factors makes for a truly Argentinian experience. The outside view seems to have a bit of a British theme going for it, a remnant of the British occupation that once was. There, one could see modern city life paired with vintage looking buildings, where the past and the present meet. Inside, the design is quite rustic and homey. It has an old school feel, which is just clean and simple, but elegant.
Diners can choose from the a la carte menu which includes Ceviches (seafood), Carnes (steak), Empanadas (traditional Argentine pastries with meat fillings), Appetizers, Pastas, Salads, Parrilla (grilled meat and fish), and Guarniciones (traditional Argentinian vegetable side dishes). They also have a 2 course set meal which includes an appetizer, a main, and a soft drink for HK$118. Aside from that, they also serve a Gaucho Lunch, which includes any appetizer from the set lunch plus a 10oz Fire Grilled Hanger Steak with Salad or French Fries Provenzal for HK$268. Add HK$30 to the set meals mentioned for any dessert from the a la carte menu.
A must try are any of the finest prime Argentinian steaks served with a selection of 6 salsas namely Criolla, Chimichurri, Spicy Tomato, Dijon Mustard, Grained Mustard, and Horseradish.
Expect to pay HK$300 - HK$500 per head.
Tango Argentinian Steakhouse is open for lunch and dinner daily. After dinner, enjoy the nightlife in any of the bars along Wyndham Street, including Lily, Time Out HK's 'best new bar' of 2010.
