Fuk Yuen Hotpot Seafood Restaurant

This hotpot joint is fantastic if you want a relaxed, cheap, and traditional experience. They close at 5AM, so no matter when your hotpot craving hits, they’ve got you covered.

Decked out in traditional Chinese décor (minimal!), complete with round tables and a view of the street below from both sides of the two-floor restaurant.

Take the skinny escalators up one floor to the large fish tank, and a hostess will either seat you, or send you up one more escalator, depending on how busy they are and how large your party is.

Their menu is only in Chinese, but the staff is very helpful and will do the best they can. After 9:00PM they have specials, including reduced price for hotpot items, and other offers, such as a special tomato base which is only HK$ 1 (yes, one dollar), and is delicious.

The clientele is quite boisterous, with the idea that the louder the table, the better the time they’re having prevailing. Smoking inside in Hong Kong is not permitted, but in this place, people still do it.

Expect to spend around HK$100 per person, including drinks.
