Cafe Mambo
Ibiza
Universally famed for its breathtaking sunsets, what was once a derelict house is now home to one of the Ibiza’s most recognisable of bars. They have the décor just right; mixes of traditional Ibizenco features typified by their infamous deep blue mosaics, perfectly contrasted by their stylish furnishings.
Throughout the day Café Mambo has a relaxed feel to it, with simple yet appetising food and refreshing drinks being served out in their plenty. However, it’s not until day-light begins to draw to a close that that this mesmeric venue starts to come into its own. As the sun slowly disappears into the sea, the vibe transforms into one of prolonged calm yet intense excitement at the same time. Revellers sip champagne and drink cocktails amid this truly inspiring setting.
Throughout the summer months, the names that Café Mambo attracts are phenomenal. No bar elsewhere on the island can even dream to come close when it comes to the calibre of DJ’s. David Guetta, Roger Sanchez, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, Dizzie Rascal…the list is endless. And that is only from the summer of 2009. Attracting globally recognised superstars, Café Mambo is one of the most popular pre-club destinations that Ibiza has to offer. However it doesn’t stop there. Every Sunday, Jose Padilla (Founder of the infamous ‘Balearic Beat’) dusts off his vinyl and plays to his adorning fans. What better way to spend a Sunday evening than relaxing over a cocktail or a bite to eat, whist watching the sun drop into the Mediterranean, to the sounds of one of the most influential DJ’s to grace the planet? It beats catching up a weeks worth of Eastenders that’s for sure!!
