![]() Ocho OverviewThe C-733 road heading north from Ibiza Town to Sant Joan meanders through many wonderfully picturesque locations, each demonstrating individual acts of natural and manmade beauty. One such venue is that of an old finca that has become home to the restaurant ‘Ocho’. The restaurateurs John Broekman and Leah Tilbury have transformed what was once an ageing building into an enchanting and intimate setting. Adorned with vibrant colours, the rich fabrics are effectively offset against the whites of the walls and the wooden beams. The tiled garden is equally, if not more so as alluring as the restaurant’s interior, with atmospheric lighting providing an ideal foundation for the stylish décor to thrive upon.
In keeping with the traditional roots of the region and the setting itself, Ocho has devised a creative Mediterranean menu which focuses upon utilising locally sourced produce. Indeed, the restaurant’s very own garden provides many of the flavours that are noticeable throughout its cuisine. As is to be expected of classical Mediterranean dishes, there is a great variety of delightfully fresh meats and fish accompanied with vegetables characteristic of the given season. Particularly worth noting was the skewered chicken sataay with lime and chilli as a starter and the fresh filleted fish of the day as a main. The deserts are most certainly worth saving room for; fresh and inventive but most importantly delicious!
With extremely friendly staff and extremely reasonable prices attached to the generous portions, it comes as no surprise that Ocho have firmly cemented their name on the Ibiza restaurant circuit. Ocho serves food from 20:00 until 01:00 during the summer, with the bar staying open until late! Throughout the winter months, the restaurant is open from Friday through Sunday.
