Our Local Experts say:

Surfing is one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland. From kids on their summer holidays, to post year-in-Oz twenty somethings to surfing tourists, there's a break to suit everyone. Ireland has plenty of surf schools throughout the country.

Lahinch may be the 'surf capital' of Ireland. It has fantastic beginner's breaks, surf schools on the beach, and plenty of apres surfing nightlife and entertainment. Fanore in Co. Clare is quieter but very beautiful, while Bundoran in Co. Donegal is highly recommended. The water may be a teeny bit cold, but the waves are worth it so why not try it!
