Sandown

Now heading back up eastern coast of the Isle of Wight, is the sea-side resort of Sandown. A fairly large town, Sandown is great for families with a long beach and many sea-side attractions. Sandown esplanade is home to the Isle of Wight Zoo with it's tiger sanctuary, and Dinosaur Isle. It also has various fairground rides, a pier, and a Pitch and Putt. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars etc and in peak season a good amount of nightlife too. Sandown also makes a great base to explore the island from, being on a major bus route and having a train which will take you between Shanklin and Ryde.
