Hüseyin Aga Mosque Overview

Situated on Istiklal Street, Hüseyin Aga Mosque was built in 1596. The architect Hüseyin Aga (Chief) is buried in the yard of the mosque together with Davut Aga, another chief from Ottoman times. There is also a fountain constructed by renowned Ottoman architect Sinan.The mosque was restored in 1934 following a big fire.
