Parks in Istanbul

Istanbul's parks provide a welcome escape from the heat and chaos of the city. These green wonderlands are scattered about the city, from small suburban gems to expansive jewels.

Each Spring, the annual Istanbul Tulip Festival turns parks such as Gulhane Park and Emirgan Park into candy coloured beauties, while during the warmer months locals flock to the closest green space to enjoy a peaceful picnic or barbecue. Many of the city's parks have a long history and have continued to be enjoyed for centuries.
