Though it is widely accepted as being Dutch, the tulip has its roots in Turkey. Exported to Holland during the 17th Century, this flower is celebrated annually in the city. For around two weeks in April, city parks and roadside medians flower with a fantastic variety of vibrant colours.
The best places to go during this time is Yildiz, Gulhane and Emirgan Parks.
