Hamdi Restaurant in Eminonu specializes in south eastern Turkish cuisine and enjoys spectacular views over the Galata Bridge, Golden Horn and Marmara Sea as well as many of Istanbul's best loved attractions.

The origins of Hamdi Restaurant date back to years before, when a young man, Hamdi Arpaci, arrived in Istanbul from the city of Urfa and opened a modest kebab stand in an Eminonu parking lot. Things have changed dramatically for Hamdi since then, and the premises now boast five floors and 140 staff.

The restaurant's menu is extensive, beginning with soups, gourmet cheeses, traditional mezes and stews and leading on to their famous kebabs. From specially spiced minced meat options to sis and döner, the restaurant continues to offer a wide variety of choices.

Hamdi's specialties include the Hashas Kebab, made with poppy seeds, and the Testi Kebab, whereby veal is cooked for several hours inside a sealed clay pot with tomato, shallots, garlic, butter and spices.

The food menu is complemented by a comprehensive Kavaklidere brand wine list with beer, spirits and soft drinks also available. Hamdi Restaurant also makes its own desserts including fresh baklava, for which they have developed an outstanding reputation.

Each floor offers different seating arrangements, including the terrace which boasts spectacular panoramic views of famous Istanbul landmarks such as the New Mosque, Suleymaniye Mosque, Rustem Pasha Mosque and more. It also has special lounges, indoor and outdoor tables and an exotic oriental saloon which is decorated in south-eastern style. The ground floor features fast food options and offers a 10% discount. The restaurant also operates a Köfte (meatball) eatery nearby.
