Vegetarian Restaurants in Istanbul

Though vegetarianism is not common in Turkey, there are many dishes in traditional Turkish cuisine which are free from meat products.

Soups are usually made from lentils, bulgur wheat or tomato and most meze dishes are vegetarian and make liberal use of spinach, cabbage, string beans, eggplant, peppers, tomato, garlic, yoghurt and cucumber. Popular vegetarian snacks include Borek, pastry with cheese or spinach, and 'meat-free' Cig Kofte(bulgar wheat, tomato and spices).
