	Egin Tekstil- Doctor's Number 1 Overview Founded close to 150 years ago, Egin Textile in the Grand Bazaar is run by former medical doctor Suleyman Ertas, the fifth generation to be involved in the business. This textile specialist in situated in one of the oldest buildings in the area, and its walls are covered with notes and greetings left by visitors. Also known as "Doctor's Number 1", Egin Textile stocks a wide range of high quality pestemals, towels, bed covers and table cloths. There is also a selection of pure olive oil soaps and other toiletries. The designs are officially patented, and many costumes from the Hollywood blockbuster 'Troy' were made of the textiles sourced from the store. Egin Textile's products can also be found at luxury hotels and hamams in Istanbul or worldwide destinations like Dubai. Egin Textile promises "Endless customer happiness and satisfaction..." and is happy to take back any purchase at "any time and without any reason."

the last towel you will want to own

I too stumbled upon this great shop where I met the owner and bought the Doctor's Number 1 towel. Love it for it's absorbancy, ability to fit all body types and how fast it dries. It only gets better with age, for real. I hope to be able to make contact to be able to have them in a small museum store of very special items in the US.

best quality and service by a long mile (km)

We stumbled accross this shop not knowing anything about the history nor about the quality of their products. We purchased blankets and towels and could have purchased much more. The service was exceptional. Now the trick is to try and buy some more products online if possible and ship them to Australia.

Best Towels in the world!

In the gluttonous land of America where I live, all towels are too thick and use up too much water. Doctor's Number 1 towel, which I purchased in Istanbul is much larger (covering more of my body when wrapped) and is a thinner cotton so that it doesn't use as much water. Everyone who visits asks me where they can get one. Mine has now lasted 5 years and although constantly in use, shows no wear (except for where I spilled coffee). If you are environmentally friendly you will love this towel!!! Christopher from NYC
