Mantobeni Camp is meant to be representative of Africa as the great writer, Ernest Hemingway, saw it. Twelve tented camps are snuggled into a grove of Tamboti that looks out over a dry river bed. The community reception area consists of a large sitting area, both indoor and outdoor spaces, a bar, and a wine cellar that is climate-controlled. A swimming pool is adjacent the welcome area and wild game can be viewed from this locale. Each tented room is very amiably furnished with a comfortable king-size bed and couches made of soft leather. Each accommodation has its own bathroom. The bathroom incorporates a separate toilet, concrete bath, and double shower.

The Khoka Moya Camp also consists of 12 spacious tents and is furnished in a very comfortable manner. Each tented area offers a separate toilet and double shower. A private seating area is located outside the tent for each guest to relax and reflect on the day’s events and what it’s like to be in the “bush.” The reception area for this set of 12 tents is composed of iron, steel, and recycled timber. Architect Enrico Daffonchio is responsible for the contemporary flair of this welcome area.

When you awake to the vibrant call of pounding drums, you will know it is the beginning to a fantastic day that holds a wonderful world of new experiences. Coffee and tea will be served, and a rousing breakfast will be supplied.

The chef from the camp’s Sides Restaurant provides delicious meals that are full of quality, using the best and freshest ingredients, elegant and yet simple enough for the African bush. Those guests with special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.

After the morning breakfast, a safari on foot is standard and will concentrate on bird life in the area, native plants, and insect study. Guests may alternatively choose to relax in camp by the pool and/or tackle the resources of the camp library. Excursions are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon or evening hours.
