Gautrain Pretoria Station

Johannesburg

Gautrain Railway

Pretoria is the administrative capital of South Africa, and the offices of the South African Government as well as those of the State President, are housed in the magnificent Union Buildings built on a hill in the city. These buildings were designed by the renowned architect Sir Herbert Baker who designed many famous buildings around South Africa.

Pretoria is a beautiful city, being built in the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountain range. In October and November, the thousands of Jacaranda trees in and around Pretoria are in full bloom with their dark blue flowers, giving it an almost magical appearance, and resulting in it being locally referred to as the "Jacaranda City"

Pretoria Station is only 45 min from OR Tambo International Airport on the Gautrain Urban Railway System, but a change of train is required at Marlboro Station. However there are plenty of signs to guide you to the correct platform. You may also break your journey at Sandton Station from where you can visit the well known Sandton City and Mandela Square. The nearby Sandton Station will take you directly to Pretoria in 27 minutes.
