THE JEANS BAR

It can be difficult to be original. Almaty has many quality cafes and restaurants and they all have something to offer. But Jeans Bar, open since 2012, has a unique theme. This makes it an exciting place to spend time with friends.

Rather than just being a place to eat or drink, this bar is also famous as one of the best shops in town - selling various authentic brand name jeans.

The stock is on display around the walls, as well as in the designated shop, which has a selection of high quality jeans at good prices. It is evident that the designers of the interior have thought through every detail. The idea for the bar came from the fact that jeans appeal to almost everybody. This could be said of Jeans Bar itself.

But even though a lot of the appeal of Jeans Bar is in its design, it does not overlook any of the key ingredients to creating a great day or night out. First of all, the menu is suitable for most requirements, and full of tempting options. Highlights include the steak, as well as pizza and pasta. There are also cold dishes and bar snacks. Up to 60 or 70 people come in for business lunches every weekday. There are also dozens of options for dinner, and an English menu.

There are two main rooms, but the larger of the two has been designed to allow privacy, with some tables set behind shelves - with jeans for sale displayed prominently. The overall capacity is 140, and without fail Jeans Bar fills up at weekends. Part of the reason for this is the live music. Every night of the week (except Sunday) sees a different live band play a few hours, and there is a top DJ on Wednesdays.

As for the drinks, you can see behind the massive bar a very wide range of beers and cocktails. Jeans is one of the few places in Kazakhstan selling Stella Artois, which is an attraction for many in itself. But this is just one choice of many, and there are dozens of other options too. The cocktails, as described, are numerous and always made with fresh ingredients.

The staff are professional and with English speakers on hand if you need them, this is one of the liveliest places to experience the best of Almaty's night scene.
