Kazakhstan has incorporated modern ways of life without consigning its traditions to history. Its culture has embraced incoming customs from all over the world without compromising those which Kazakhs are most proud of.

Nowhere is this more in evidence than in the abundance of places to eat and cuisine to choose from. The selection of eateries across the country, mainly in Almaty and Astana, comprises such a range that even the hungriest gourmet would be forced to miss out on a few tasty dishes, be they from restaurants serving food prepared according to time honoured Kazakh recipes, or other national varieties.
