Named after one of the greatest natural structures on earth which is visible from outer space, the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort looks over this magnificent landscape and offers the vivid panoramas of the Great Rift Valley that Kenya is famous for.

The lodge is built around an 18-hole golf course which is both challenging and exciting. With wild animals who occasionally take residence on the lush fairways, the wildlife have right of way to golfers, and all around you there is much to see. Many species of exotic birds sun themselves nearby and the narrow fairways, free-form greens and uneven terrain make the golf course extremely challenging.The 18th hole is 598 metres long which makes it the longest in Kenya.

The rooms are spacious with a lounge, fireplace and private balconies overlooking the Aberdares mountainous terrain. Twin beds or double beds are available.

Here, among the beautifully landscaped gardens with succulent plants and ponds, the Longonot villas, overlook Mount Longonot, an extinct volcano from the Rift’s turbulent past.

There are 40 beautifully spacious villas, , each one being a three-tier three-bedroomed house. Designed with every modern amenity, the villas each have a living room, dining room and kitchen together with the master bedroom at the top of the villa offering magnificent views of the lake or mountain. Two extra bedrooms are on the ground floor opening onto the garden all of which offer amazing views and clear fresh air.

Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort Facilities

Eburru’s peak is one of the few to give you a panorama of the three Great Rift Valley lakes so famous for their flocks of pretty pink flamingoes – Lake Nakuru, Lake Elementaita and Lake Naivasha.

As well as the superb 18 hole golf course, this beautiful golf resort also offers a range of sports facilities including tennis, swimming pool, cycle hire and a young adventurers club to keep children occupied. Horse riding is possible and an early morning ride to the plains is just exhilarating experience where you will perhaps see the plains game close up such as giraffe, zebra, warthog, impala, gazelle and even hippo if you're lucky. Enjoy a picnic breakfast in this magnificent landscape, before riding back to the lodge. Even for inexperienced riders, you can enjoy a ride on the wild side. Guides are happy to lead your horse so you can relax and enjoy.

With over 215 recorded species – this land of Eden gives you a chance to see fast fliers like the Pallid harrier to the elegant goshawks; from the colourful sunbirds to superb eagles scanning the vistas for a prey. It's probably a good idea to keep your binoculars handy!

A naturalist is based at the lodge who is highly skilled in natural history. So if you discover a secret moth cocoons, need someone to identify a trees, shrub or flowers, he/she will no doubt be able to help you out.
