Beautiful Hotel - loved every minute of our stay here for our wedding anniversary

My wife and I returned to Kenya for our 25th wedding anniversary (we met here). The Mount Kenya Safari Club is somewhere that we remembered from our time in Kenya so we wanted to return and see the magnificent views of Mt Kenya again. Our bungalow was lovely with huge rooms, and we loved having the log fire lit in the evening. It was all very clean with friendly staff and had just been refurbished so was looking very new. We felt that it was by far the best hotel we stayed in during our visit and it was also the best food we had during our stay. The sunken bath was a nice touch as were hot water bottles in the bed to keep you warm at night. The animal orphanage founded by Stephanie Powers was very interesting. The guides were very knowledgeable and the talk they gave was most interesting We also went an a two hour, guided bird walk where we saw a lot of birdlife. The main thing though was the glorious walk around the extensive grounds which gave superb views of Mount Kenya and was a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon. It was a great start to our holiday.
