Harrison House Retirement Home Overview

Harrison House is a retirement home for men and women, found in Nairobi. It's a wonderful place to live or recuperate, for those who are looking for good company and attentive care.

Set in 2 acres of a beautifully landscaped, mature garden. The attractive flower gardens have lush tropical vegetation and are visible from wherever you are in the home. There is a communal area with a large lounge, TV room, dining room and a long wide veranda that stretches all along the front of the old house providing a lovely viewpoint over the gardens and a good place to chat with friends.

Residential apartments and rooms are provided in the purpose built and specially designed with the elderly in mind. Each apartment has its own bathroom, living room and bedroom. Although the designs vary, all rooms are well proportioned and homely. Residents furnish their rooms with their own belongings to create a real feeling of being at home. Carers and qualified nurses are on hand when needed and can be contacted through an internal buzzer system.

Regular activities are held for residents, from sing-a-longs to music and movement sessions held twice a week. The House is always full of fresh flowers which are kindly donated by a local flower farm.

Harrison House is owned and managed by the East Africa Womens' League. The EAWL holds weekly meetings in their Head Quarters located within the grounds.
