Anghiti (Westlands) Overview

Not an easy restaurant to find unless you know where you’re going, this is another one of Westlands finest Indian restaurants with food to die for! Inside the main open-plan dining area, the décor is fairly bright with other dining areas outside on large open air patios that provide somewhere a little more private and secluded for diners to enjoy their meal. Regardless of the fact that this is an unusual location, the place is often packed, so booking is advisable.

A huge range of traditional Indian cuisine is offered, with care and attention paid to the presentation and look of each dish.

Anghiti is the name for the traditional Indian charcoal brazier used for grilling meat and kebabs. Of course, being named after an anghiti, much of the cuisine at the restaurant is cooked using this method on the premises, and an extensive range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are offered with the Anghiti Mixed Grill being one that I would recommend. This platter is made up from an assortment of fish, chicken and mutton, all marinated overnight in an assortment of spices and then cooked to perfection in the charcoal “anghiti” brazier. Other specialities of the Anghiti restaurant are Malai Kofta, dumplings in a royal gravy, a variety of Paneer dishes, fish and other sea foods, side dishes and delicious sweet Indian deserts.

Anghiti Restaurant has three branches. Anghiti Westlands (the oldest and largest) with Anghiti Muthaiga being a slightly smaller premises at the Muthaiga Shopping Centre and another Anghiti In Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
