![]() Le Rustique Restaurant OverviewFormerly know as the Book Room, Le Rustique is an Art Gallery & Mediterranean Restaurant tucked away on the outskirts of Westlands. The atmosphere is relaxed and open, with tables spreading from the Art Gallery out on to the large open patio overlooking the lawn. Located at the bottom of the garden are small three shopping boutiques, one of them being a Kitengela Glass outlet. More tables are here and tucked away around the back of the boutiques is a big rope swing and climbing frame to keep children entertained.
Le Rustique Menu The menu at Le Rustique offers healthy, imaginative and well-presented dishes from Southern Europe or North Africa. There is a standard menu available, and also a weekly specials menu to add a little variety to your dining experience. To start with, the Anchovy, rosemary and red onion tart is a good way to start a meal, followed by Salmon en croute with spinach and pesto sauce or perhaps a Grilled steak and peppers vinaigrette is more to your liking. To end your meal, try one of the delicious sweet crepes or waffles, perhaps topped with Frangipani Crème or Mango, Ginger, Cashew Nuts.
The cocktails and mocktails are also worth mentioning with a strawberry daiquairy being my particular favourite!
Le Rustique Delicatessen shop The New York style Delicatessen shop sells Antipasti platters, prepared and sold at the counter, together with Italian cold cuts, cheeses, bresaola, terrines and pates, foie gras and other specialities,. There is also a choice of sandwiches for sale at this counter for take-away.
Le Rustique Art Gallery Inside, the gallery is small but offers an interesting selection of original artwork. The artwork is almost always from local artists. In the gardens there are some wooden sculptures, which ass to the arty feel of the place and are usually also for sale.
The Kitengela Glass shop at Le Rustique The Kitengela Glass shop is small but interesting, with even the building itself being worth seeing. It’s created in typical Kitengela Glass style (very reminiscent of the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi), with undulating walls party made from recyled glass bottles, quirky details and floors, again made of mosaics and recyled materials. The shop sells beautiful blown glass and stained glass items that Kitengela Glass has become famous for.
Opening Times Mon - Sat : 9.30 a.m - 7.00 p.m? Wednesday nights open for a candle lit romantic dinner until late |

November 2010 Great place!
Susan F from Nairobi
My foods always been great, so are the drinks and even better service! Great place for families with young children as have a great playground (don't expect 5star western safety standards, but more the for the "wild child") and some toys with tables outside not too far from the playground. Lovely brunch menu.

October 2009 I love this place
Mary from Nairobi
This is a fantastic place to come for a cocktail and a quiet meal with friends. They always have good art exhibitions on and it's just really peaceful and nice. Its healthy food and the little shopping boutiques at the bottom of the garden are good too.
