Khao Chedi

Kohsamui

Temples

From Khao Chedi Temple you can see the whole bay area of Bang Kao, the islands of Koh Tan, Koh Mat Sum and the Surat Thani mainland in the background. It's also one of the best spots on the island to catch the sunrise and sunset.

Facing Bang Kao, there's a magnificent golden Buddha in the Subduing Mara posture . A statue of Baby Buddha who was said to be able to walk from birth and the 28 Buddhas. That's right 28 Buddhas, as is written in Buddhist scripture there were 27 Buddha's before Siddhartha Gautama.

It's a great place to enjoy the tranquility with a view, then head off for a tasty authentic Thai lunch at the neighbouring village of Thong Tanote Beach.

Check out Pagoda Laem Sor while you are here, it's five minutes away on the beach.

The easiest way to get there is to take the 4170 road after Hua Thanon village, follow the road to Laem Sor, it is sign posted.
