Bophut Information

The village is a collection of boutique shops, quaint bars, restaurants and boutique accommodation. Here you’ll see some lovely little wooden houses and shops from times gone by interlaced with modern buildings.

It’s a very popular place to come and enjoy a night out. Restaurants and bars line the small street and beach, offering a wide variety of culinary fair, with an obvious leaning towards fresh seafood. Testament to its popularity, dinning prices here are generally high for Samui.

The place really comes alive a night, with live music and sometimes dj’s playing in the beachside bars.

On Friday night the streets are closed off to traffic and become a walking street market, with food, drink and all sorts of wares for sale.

For the active tourist, there are tour agent shops for booking day trips, safaris or island tours and dive centres for those inclined.

To round it off there are the mandatory suit tailors, market stalls, 7-11’s, pharmacies and massage spas.

Heading west after Fisherman’s Village, the beach is lined with resorts. The ring road that runs parallel is less tourist friendly. It is quite busy with cars and trucks hurtling past, but you’re never short of places to eat and drink the full length of Bophut. Its great value for money without compromise of quality.

Bophut is only a 10 minute ride to Chaweng, so it makes for a good base for those that would prefer a laid back holiday by day and the option to get amongst it by night.
