Non-Iron

Non Iron is a compact but atmospheric bar in Krakow’s Old Town that is devoted to good beer and sports. If you ever wondered whether people play rugby in Poland, a few words with Tomek, co-owner and experienced rugby player, together with the array of rugby memorabilia should convince you.

Non Iron isn’t just about rugby, though, with other sports from football to speedway regularly shown on their two screens. Lively discussions on the merits or otherwise of various sportsmen and women can take place between a clientele that encompasses local Poles, expats and tourists (who are very often re-visitors).

But sport isn’t the only attraction in Non Iron. Asia and Tomek care about their beer, and here you’ll find the best (and best kept) selection of Czech beers in town; and at prices that make you wonder why you pay more for inferior brews when you’re this close to the Main Square.

Non Iron has been open for around 14 years and has something of a “local” atmosphere that is hard to find in the centre of Krakow these days. Considering the name, the one outstanding irony is the fact that all the furniture – and bar – is steel!
