Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (or locally known just as Taman Tun or TTDI), an upper middle class residential area is one of the bigger township situated in the border of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. It is situated nearer to the Petaling Jaya region of Selangor. Neighbouring areas are Bandar Utama, Damansara Utama, Kota Damansara and Damansara Perdana. Historically, Taman Tun is named after Tun Dr. Ismail Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first ambassador to the United Stated and former Deputy Prime Minister in 1970.
Some commercial landmarks in Taman Tun is the former IBM Building now occupied by VADS Berhad, the e-business arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad. Nearby is where TTDI Plaza, a lifestyle building centre which consists of many new concept stores and designer pubs, bars and restaurants. It is a common nighlife spots for locals. One of the local favourite is Bambo9. Slightly further away, still within the Taman Tun area, one will find some bars and pubs suitable to hang-out after work and during happy hours. One such establishment is Sid's Pubs along with Boathouse and Tom, Dick & Harry.
