Ever since it has opened its doors in 1986, the restaurant has gained a faithful and still growing clientele of regulars. The food served at Elena's L'Etoile is typically French with an Italian influences. The freshest and finest ingredients create a wonderful menu including starters like seared scallops and parfait chicken liver and mains such as the confit of lamb and grilled entrecote with sauce béarnaise and chips. The meals are best topped off with one of the offered desserts. Among the favourites here are the cheese platter and the classic tarte tatin. A complementary wine list includes vintages and New World wine with a lot of them served by the glass. The food is delicious and served in appropriate helpings, jsutifying the premium prices for what you get. Considering the neighbourhood, this is probably not too unexpected. On entering the restaurant, one might wonder whether one has stepped into a time machine. With genuine French décor from the 1970s, Elena's L'Etoile perfected the illusion of French authenticity in the middle of England’s capital.
