![]() Gazette Brasserie - Battersea OverviewFrench hospitality may have something of a bad reputation in the UK, but that is merely down to a certain cultural jealousy; dining in France is a unique experience, which is almost like a game of cat and mouse between you and the waiting. However, the owners of the Gazette Brasserie have reined in certain French idiosyncrasies in order to appeal to London sensibilities. The result is extremely charming – their two brasseries in the city are warm and welcoming, and a great place to head to throughout the day.
Whether you fancy a fresh early breakfast, a chilled out lunch enjoyed in light surroundings and accompanied by a glass of fine wine, or a decadent spot in which to enjoy a romantic evening meal with a loved one, the Gazette Brasserie is the ideal location. The full French breakfast is a delight, while the provincial dishes are sublime at any time of the day: the hot fois gras, the beef tartare, the mussels marinieres, the risottos and the every-changing ‘plat du jour’ are all magnificently mouthwatering, while the wine list is highly extensive.
There are two Gazette Brasseries in London. This one – the Gazette Brasserie Battersea is located at Riverside Plaza in SW11, near the Thames and a short walk from Clapham Junction. The décor throughout is a unique combination of rustic wooden furniture, bare stonewalls and some crisp and contemporary decorative flourishes throughout. Perfect for larger social gatherings, the restaurant also proves popular with office workers during the day. |
