The Spanish health system is considered one of the best in Europe.

With a large number of hospitals and outpatient departments in almost every neighborhood, any person is welcome on a free of charge basis to be treated in the emergency room if required.

Citizens from any country in the EEC have the right to be seen by a doctor in the public health system by appointment. Kindly check the following link to find your closer health office

If any serious health trouble occurs, call the emergency telephone number 112 , if requiring an urgent ambulance and medical assistance.

Pharmacies

Pharmacies are available in large number in any neighborhood, marked with a green cross on the wall.

Usual hours are from 08:00 to 21:00h, however there is a 24h service pharmacy attendance in each district. To find 24H service pharmacies, check at any pharmacy shop window.
