Historically, one of the fastest and exciting ways to know a place and its people, their way of life and their culture, has been their markets. A place where visitors can observe the varied types of people who come to buy food that later will be served on their tables, the place to find the way that people eat, and also their character when observing how they choose, select and purchase products to fill their pantries.

Markets are places where people´s characters become spontaneous and free. It's an open window for the stranger, where just on one stroke of color, shapes and smells, tastes, and human characters, the entire city can be photographed.

That's what we have tried to show here, the places where locals go to buy groceries. Because the open mindedness and joy of Madrid inhabitants, markets have gone one step beyond and they also had served as a meeting point,  places where beside groceries, a good time can be enjoyed, and where our healthy Mediterranean cuisine can be tasted in a perfect fusion between the place, the food and the people host in.
