Mallorca Beaches Information

We’ve stopped trying to count Mallorca’s beaches because we get a new figure every time – certainly there are more than 200, and most of these feature fine white sand. They range from the massive Playa de Palma between Ca’n Pastilla and s’Arenal – 5 kilometers of sand packed with tourist facilities and attractions – to tiny get away from it all coves, accessible only by foot, boat or helicopter!

There are beaches all round the island’s 554 kilometre coastline, although they are few and far between along the mountainous west coast, and many of them provide lifeguards and first aid facilities, with protected swimming areas for younger family members. Folks with accessibility difficulties are also catered for, on 64 beaches according to the Balearic Tourist Authority. We only know of two or three official nudist beaches, although toplessness is certainly legal and is also accepted on pretty well all beaches in Mallorca – if in doubt, take your lead from the local people.

Most of the major tourist areas in Mallorca are well served by excellent beaches, backed up by every facility and attraction you could want, so there’s little need to move away from there. If you do go further afield you won’t be disappointed - your only problem might be in making a choice!
