Mediterranean Sea, Mallorca, Spain

Museo del Mar

In days past, access to Sóller from the rest of Mallorca was difficult because of the substantial Tramuntana mountains, and a great dependency on links by sea was born, not least because of the tremendous natural harbour.

These links are recorded and celebrated by the Museum of the Sea, fittingly based in an old chapel overlooking the sea. Static and audio visual exhibits.

Open most days except Mondays and Tuesdays and festival days, but the hours can change without warning, so best to phone ahead! At only 2 Euros per person entry (kids under 8 are free) it's well worth a visit.
