Fra Giuseppe is a delightful cafe and wine bar situated in the old village core of Hal Balzan in the centre of Malta. The wine bar is a local favourite and serves a number of nibbles and small eats with all sorts of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, including a good variety of local and foreign wines.

The 300 year old house of character that Fra Giuseppe occupies, was the retreat of an eminent Maltese doctor, Rev Dr Giuseppe Zammit, who left a lasting legacy on the Maltese islands. In 2003, the historic house was bought and painstakingly renovated by its present owners and your hosts, Stefan and Kelly Agius. Today, friends can meet and socialise in great surroundings with both indoor and outdoor areas available. Fra Giuseppe also serves as a mini art gallery thanks to its collaboration with The Picture House.

The wine list offered covers a wide variety of wines covering both new and old world wines. The food available to accompany the drinks ranges from typical Maltese Ftiras (stuffed bread), Fondues, Platters, Wraps and Salads. Keep an eye out for the specialities written daily on the blackboard - there is always a small selection of tasty and hearty meals... be it soup, baked pasta or similar.
