![]() The Butcher's Grill Restaurant OverviewThe Butcher’s Grill presents an innovative concept to Malta by bringing a taste of magical Africa to the Maltese shores. Forming part of the meticulously restored Point de Vue Guesthouse , the Butcher’s Grill is situated in Rabat just a stone throw away from the main gate of the World Heritage Site of Mdina and its evocative medieval walls. Another advantage of being situated in Rabat, is its perched location on one of the highest points in Malta offering some spectacular views of the island.
The kitchen at The Butcher’s Grill is as original as you will find on the island. The general concept is to source the best produce available locally and enhance dishes with a distinctive African twist mainly influenced by the Land of Spices itself, Zanzibar. The team of Tanzanian chefs have devised interesting African inspired dishes such as the Cajun Kuku Chicken Breast marinated in Cajun spices, the Seafood Espetada Zanzibar style on a skewer and served with rojo (a typical Zanzibar mango sauce) or the Mdalasini Crepes flavoured with cinnamon and lemon juice.
For those not to keen on African inspired food, The Butcher’s Grill also offers a wider variety of ‘ordinary’ options, from typical local dishes to pizza and pasta choices and other Mediterranean food including salads.
The Malta meets Africa concept of The Butcher’s Grill may sound strange at first, but a couple of minutes in this delightful restaurant will immediately win you over and the effortless way in which it works will have you enjoy a lovely dining experience at reasonable prices. A recommended restaurant if visiting Mdina and its surroundings.
