China House

The China House is a popular restaurant in Malta both with locals after good quality, good value food, as well as with tourists thanks to its central location and proximity to the ever increasing number of hotels in the area. Situated in St. Julian's, just off Spinola Bay and the high-end Portomaso complex, the decor of the the Chinese restaurant has been recently refurbished.

The contemporary design is a great space to dine whilst also retaining a number of oriental features in theme with the restaurant's Chinese cuisine. There is also a spacious terrace at the back of the China House which is a great spot for 'al fresco' dining with atmospheric lanterns creating a relaxed ambience.

The oriental cuisine is brought to you by a dedicated and experienced team of Chinese chef and assistants. Starters may be ordered individually or served in a platter fashion with a variety such as seaweed, spring roll, crab claw, prawn crackers, wontons, spare ribs, dumplings, chicken wings and other finger linking good assortments. A choice of twelve soups based on Far East cuisine must be one of the widest choices of its kind in Malta. The choice of mains is simply confounding due to the sheer size of it - thankfully no comprise is made on quality to offer such quantity. Duck dishes, curried dishes, sizzling plates, chicken, beef, spare ribs, pork, king prawn, fish, mussels, squid, vegetables, rice, noodles - there is a healthy choice for everyone's tastes and preferences.

Also certainly worth mentioning is the in-house temperature controlled wine cave with an extensive variety of local, European and new world wines.

The China House adapts itself beautifully to any occassion. From a romantic dinner with your loved one, to a family or friends gathering over a very satifying meal at superb value.
