New China House

The China House is a popular restaurant in Malta

both with locals after good quality, good value food as well as tourists due to its central location and proximity to a number of hotels. Situated in St. Julian’s, just off Spinola Bay and the Portomaso complex, the decor of the sizeable interiors has recently been refurbished.

The contemporary design has is a great space to dine in whilst also retaining a number of oriental features in theme with the restaurant's cuisine. There is also a spacious terrace at the back of the New China House for al fresco dining with atmospheric lanterns creating a relaxed ambience.

Oriental cuisine is brought to you by a dedicated and experienced team of Chinese chef and assistants. Starters may be ordered individually or served in a platter fashion with a variety such as seaweed, spring roll, crab claw, prawn crackers, wontons, spare ribs, dumplings, chicken wings and other finger linking good assortments. A choice of twelve soups based on Far East cuisine must be one of the widest choices of its kind in Malta. The choice of mains is simply confounding due to the sheer size of it – thankfully no comprise is made on quality to offer such quantity. Duck dishes, curried dishes, sizzling plates, chicken, beef, spare ribs, pork, king prawn, fish, mussels, squid, vegetables, rice, noodles – there is a healthy choice of each.

The China house menu reads close to two hundred (199) authentic Oriental dishes strong! Also worth mentioning is the in-house temperature controlled wine cave with an extensive variety of local, European and international wines.
