Ta' Rikardu OverviewTa’ Rikardu is a charming little place within the walls of the Citadel, in the old fortified capital of Gozo. Even though not really a restaurant in the strictest sense of the word, there are a number of exquisite local dishes and platters served at Ta’ Ricardu...such as sun dried tomatoes, pickled onions, olives, capers, goat’s cheese served with local olive oil and delicious Maltese bread. Soups and other pasta dishes are also available. However, do not ask for a menu as it does not exist. Similar to its tavern-like feel, seating is on wooden stools round small tables.
Finding Ta’ Ricardu is easy once in the Citadel - just look out for the wine barrel up the narrow street on the law courts side of the church. Certainly worth a visit if in the area to sample some genuine Maltese produce. You can also buy a wide variety of typical food made in Malta & Gozo, as well as local wines and liqueurs.
One can imagine that the place is a bit of a tourist trap, so bookings are very much advisable.
