![]() Tarragon Restaurant OverviewMarvin’s restaurant is a relatively new addition to the local top dining scene. In this time, Tarragon has won over top restaurant critics, discerning local clientele and well-heeled visitors to Malta. Marvin is a young chef with great potential and a love of food that he has pursued ever since he was young. It is refreshing to have an enthusiastic chef patron who has made making time to interact with his clients the norm. Located off the main tourist trail in St. Paul’s Bay, the restaurant has panoramic views of a pretty bay with traditional fishing boats bobbing up and down on the dreamy Mediterranean Sea. This nautical theme is felt throughout Tarragon’s stylish interior decor.
The attention to detail and fixation with quality is immediately obvious with the noble looking menu, bespoke design for the wine list that is written with connoisseur’s flair. Tarragon’s food consists of only the best fresh local and foreign ingredients one can purchase. Meats are imported fresh from Scotland, Argentina and Holland. The pork and chicken are locally raised and the fish is as fresh as can be (Marvin is especially keen on his seafood). The vegetables are grown especially for the restaurant and desserts are a one way trip to heaven.
Tarragon Restaurant offers delicious, casual fare that goes down a treat. From heart-warming soups to fresh seafood and pasta dishes, starters are a higher order of delicacy while the mains are chunky, innovative dishes, followed by home-made desserts that will have you yearning for second helpings. Try some Octopus carpaccio marinated in garlic, herbs olive oil, lemon juice and cracked salt & pepper for starters. The pasta, which can also be taken as a main course, includes the delicious Pasta Parcels filled with pears and tallegio cheese served with a house speciality sauce. Fillet of beef lava rock grilled to your liking with truffle and wild mushroom sauce or Salmon fillet topped with a herb crust served with a light tomato and cream sauce are a couple of ideas for mains. Finally round of your meal with a Banoffi pie, Fig ice cream or a Creme brulee.
Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience. |
