Trattoria Palazz OverviewTrattoria Palazz in Malta’s capital, Valletta, is tucked away in a traditional limestone cellar beneath the city’s public library. Located in one of the many narrow streets joining Valletta’s two main commercial streets (Republic Street and Merchant Street), it is not immediately obvious to find... but its inviting fresh-fish display is a telltale sign when you have arrived to its door (follow the interactive map above for directions).
The front door of the Trattoria Palazz immediately leads you down a flight of stairs into a small restaurant full of character, with its centuries old history, vaulted ceilings and traditionally stripped limestone walls... making it a really ideal setting for a lovely meal. The Trattoria Palazz kitchen is based on Maltese and Italian cuisine. Delicious antipasti, pasta, meats and fresh fish all feature on the appetising menu. The chef is also happy to accommodate individual requests and variations to the dishes whenever possible. The restaurant manager is also always at hand to walk you through the many daily specialities and for wine recommendations.
The service at Trattoria Palazz is efficient and friendly, complementing the general atmosphere of the place and making it an ideal respite from the ongoing activity around Valletta’s many commercial activities and historical attractions. |
